Amazon.com Product Description Sony's KV-24FS100 24-inch WEGA television is a feature-packed CRT set whose flat-screen Trinitron picture tube cuts down on glare and minimizes image distortion. The set comes loaded with stereo speakers and a host of video-enhancing technologies to ensure that your picture is as good as can be. Velocity modulation (selectable: off, high, low) improves the definition at picture edges, creating sharper images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas. The set's three-line digital comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped t-shirt). Top-of-the-line component-video inputs minimize digital and line-scan artifacts from compatible video sources, while standard composite- and S-video inputs accommodate all DVD players. You can choose between a set of rear AV inputs and a set of front AV inputs for extra convenience; you can label the set's video inputs and channels for easy selection. A rear AV output offers a direct connection with a VCR or personal digital video recorder (PVR). The set pumps out 7.5 watts per channel, and onboard matrix surround sound simulates surround through any two speakers. A headphone jack lets you listen in private. Other video technologies include auto white balance, Dynamic Picture Processor circuitry, tilt correction, Trinitone color temperature control, and vertical aperture compensation. I am completely satisfied with this TV..It is greatThe picture is crisp and clear..the colors are vibrant and nice..I did notice a little bit of fuzziness sometimes..but that is my only problem The sound quality is more than acceptable The setup was easy and anyone could do it..It comes with a small but efficient sony remote It is very easy to change the color, brigtness, hue, sharpness etc. on this tv also if the picture is not exactly perfect Overall a great TV..You can never go wrong with a SONY TV!! I really recommend it

Really good picture and sound October 23, 2002 Michael K. Smith (Gonzales, Louisiana) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
I recently replaced my deceased TV and antiquated VCR on the same day (and also acquired my first-ever DVD player), and, as always, I did a fair amount of consumer research before laying out my money. I have no pretensions to a home theater system, nor do I feel the need of a huge screen in my den, so I went with the highly-rated models from CONSUMER'S REPORTS. I've had Sony TVs in the past, so I felt comfortable with its reputation. This TV set up very easily and the menu procedure was pretty intuitive. The flat screen makes for a really nice picture and the sound is quite respectable. It's been about three months now, and everything seems to be working just fine. (The previous reviewer may just have gotten a lemon.)
sony is great, if you are blind and deaf August 12, 2003 cg wall (Washington, DC) 8 out of 13 found this review helpful
I purchased a Sony KV-24FS100 about 1 year ago. It broke within three months and they covered it through warranty. But then it broke again less than ten months later and they refused to help me out, other than to pay for whatever part is broken. Of course, to get it fixed again, I will have to pay at least 25-35% of the purchase price in labor, and that provides no guarantee that the part won't break again in another ten months. With Sony's useless warranty and unhelpful service, it is evident that they put no faith in their products (and for good reason, given my experience). As a customer who values his money, I have learned to cut my losses and take my business elsewhere. I'll consider myself lucky if I can give this tv away.
don't buy SONY TVs...here is why October 5, 2002 Laura L. Wagner (Pembroke, MA) 19 out of 47 found this review helpful
I bought a Trinitron 32" flat screen less than 8 months ago & have had it break on me twice! When the delivery men left the first one, it just didn't work. They replaced it immediately, and the second one was awesome. I loved it. But then the sound started to go dim. Finally I can barely hear anything but static. Their warranty is for a year on parts & only 90 days on labor. To get this TV working that I paid [price] for, I have to pay another hundred or so to get it fixed! IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN A YEAR! Customer service did nothing to help me & I am fumed. Paying so much money for what was supposed to be a quality product from a reputable company. My Fisher & Toshiba Tvs I've had for 10 years & never had a problem! DON'T BUY SONY!!!
