Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Product Description
Featuring an advanced video processor and Sony's top-level MicroFocus lens system, the KP-61S75 rear projection TV delivers 61 inches of impressive big-screen performance. The TV includes many of the attributes that distinguish Sony products, including a BrightView dual component screen, a three-line digital comb filter (which reduces blurred edges and dot crawl), scan velocity modulation (hardens the edges of images on the screen), Dynamic Focus circuitry, and an advanced picture stabilizer. The TV also employs a Flash Focus system that automatically adjusts the color convergence so users always receive a quality picture, and a dual-tuner picture-in-picture setting that gives viewers two viewing choices on the same screen (one in a smaller inset window). In addition, the TV's 120-degree viewing angle lets users see the screen from throughout the room.

Other popular features include auto channel programming, several Program Palette presets (standard, movie, and sports modes), a sleep timer (with 30-, 60-, and 90-minute settings), favorite channel preview (the ability to sample up to eight channels without leaving the current station), a multi-language onscreen menu, and color temperature correction. Parents will appreciate the V-chip parental control, which restricts children's access to mature programming, while all TV fans will find the SpeedSurf rapid channel scanning quite useful.

The TV's audio package includes a 34-watt speaker system (17 watts x 2), MTS stereo decoding with DBX noise reduction, Matrix Surround, and BBE audio enhancement. The TV also offers Steady Sound automatic volume control so loud commercials don't overwhelm the viewer. Users can also adjust the bass, treble, and balance, or enjoy a secondary audio broadcast of the same program when available (typically in another language). The TV includes a component video input for such devices as DVD players, three S-video inputs (one front and two rear), three composite inputs (one front and two rear), three audio inputs, a Control S output, and one audio and one monitor output. The front S-video and composite inputs are designed specifically to make it easy to connect a game console or camcorder.
