Product Description Not everyone needs an embedded tuner in a flat panel LCD TV, and the TL series "tuner less" feature gives you the flexibility to use your own set top box in combination with the KLV-32U100M BRAVIATM LCD Flat Panel HDTV from Sony. This monitor features high styling and performance along with HDMI connectivity in a popular space-saving bottom speaker design, enhancing even the most sophisticated decor
Amazon.com Product Description The sleekly styled, silver 32-inch Sony Bravia KLV32U100M is packed with the latest high-performance video features, including a wide viewing angle, fast response time (great for sports and action movies), and a wide color gamut backlight that provides more natural skin tones and highly accurate overall color reproduction. Designed to receive HD and standard TV signals via set top boxes (cable or satellite), the KLV32U100M provide exceptional value and performance. It also offers digital HDMI video connectivity and a bottom speaker design that helps save space. The thin profile of this Bravia TV accommodates VESA compliant mounting systems (separately available). The removable pedestal swivels 30 degrees left and right and also tilts forward 3 degrees and backward 8 degrees for additional placement flexibility. The KLV32U100M has a 1366 x 768-pixel resolution, 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, 178-degree viewing angle, and 1300:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) The Cinemotion 3:2 pulldown cinema video processing detects and compensates film--which is shot at 24 frames per second (fps) compared with video's 30 fps rate--to video for a smooth theaterlike experience at home. The 3D digital comb filter offers 10-bit signal processing that renders superb gradation of grays, resulting in superior picture detail. Other convenience features include: It pumps out 20 watts of audio power via its integrated bottom-aligned stereo speakers (10 watts per channel). It has a built-in Dolby Digital decoder (for connecting to a surround sound home theater receiver) and it can also produce SRS TruSurround XT virtual 5.1-channel surround sound from its two speakers. This set offers the following connection options: - Composite (RCA audio/video): 3 inputs (1 on the side)
- S-Video: 2 inputs (1 on the side)
- Component (Y/Pb/Pr): inputs (rear)
- HDMI: 1 input (with L/R RCA audio connections)
- PC: 1 D-Sub15 input (with L/R stereo mini plug connection)
- RF: 1 input
- Total audio inputs: 3 (rear)
- Headphone: 1
Tech Talk HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV--all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats--standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV). Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound. The SRS WOW feature widens the soundstage by processing standard two-channel stereo material as well as multi-channel encoded material for a dramatic improvement in the playback of any stereo audio over a two-speaker system. And in case you were wondering, BRAVIA is short for "Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture." What's in the Box 32-inch Bravia Tunerless LCD HD monitor, tabletop stand, remote control (with batteries), coaxial cable, HD15-to-HD15 cable, printed operating instructions Warranty 1 year for parts and labor; in-home diagnostic warranty service for one year (for LCD TVs from the Bravia U-Series and S-Series measuring over 30 inches)

Good Product February 28, 2009 C. FERRARO (Caracas, Venezuela) I do not know about other complaints. I purchased this product 2 1/2 years ago, brought it to South America by courier (by air) with all problems related to transport, warehouse, customs, lift trucks, trucks for going from a city to another one and it has been working flawless at 5,000 feet since then.
Sony HDTV a constant pleasure August 29, 2009 Robert N. Griffith (Newark ,NJ) Had this one from November 2006,and it's been a pleasure ever since. HD broadcasts and my HD DVD and Blu-ray players (Toshiba and Sony) look beautiful. The posters above must have just got TV's from a bad lot. Mine is flawless up until today
Still good Picture after 3 years... March 6, 2010 Alex (Puerto Rico) I've been buying SONY TVs since 1982,and This has been my first experience in HD
Is a pity that this is a MONITOR tunerless because the image is excellent (720p 0r 1080i).
PROs: Nice experience after 3 years (SONY is SONY)
CONS: REMOTE CONTROL pass away after 2 years.
Keeping Our Fingers Crossed January 7, 2007 Amazon Fan (Chattanooga, TN) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Great picture and definition. The 32" screen image is somewhat smaller than that on our ancient 26" set which we hauled back into use when....
Less than six weeks after we bought this set, it died. Just plain died. When Sony finally sent a tech out (almost two weeks after we reported the problem), he called in a report saying it was dead. We'd already told them that. He ordered a new "A Board" and said it would take about two weeks for it to arrive. Two weeks came and went. When I called to inquire, I was informed that the part was in and the tech had been supposed to call us. The new board was installed on December 26 and we're keeping our fingers crossed. We like the set and are hoping it will last.
Faulty Product February 20, 2007 Greg A (Nassau County, NY) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
As described by many others, this unit is faulty and began turning itself on and off after a few months. My situation is different in that it took a little longer for the problem to materialize so I still had a tv that functioned 95% of the time while waiting the 2 weeks for the A board to arrive. Thanks to other people writing reviews I knew my tv would only get worse so I scheduled the repair as soon as I started experiencing only a slight problem. The sony contracted repair I used was actually very professional and reliable, the tv has been working flawlessly for a month now and I am hoping that will be it. The picture is great but I will be living in fear that it dies again outside the 1 yr warranty period. Avoid this unit.
